Poof: New Hair 'Fro

Trying to figure out my new hair-fro. I've been obsessed with this look for a while now and finally took the plunge and got a perm a couple weeks ago. Debating on whether or not I should get it cut shorter ... Any suggestions on NYC hair salons would be greatly appreciated.
